Postdoctoral Recruitment at Westlake University (1-2 positions)

Scholarship: Fully-funded
Degree: Bachelor, Master, Ph.D
Nationality: International Students
Location: China
Application deadlines: Open

Scholarship Description:

The research group aims to develop cutting-edge molecular probes and omics analysis techniques to reveal the critical roles of RNA chemical reactions in cellular function, disease progression, and molecular pharmacology, providing a theoretical foundation and practical applications for drug development.

Dr. Fang Linglan, a PhD advisor and national-level high-caliber youth talent, conducts research in RNA chemical biology.

He obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Washington in 2020 and completed postdoctoral research at Stanford University in 2024 under the renowned nucleic acid chemist Eric T. Kool. During this time, he developed and applied deep sequencing (RNA-seq) technology, discovering a widespread “off-target” phenomenon of drug molecules in RNA, revealing new mechanisms of drug toxicity. Dr. Fang has developed a series of post-synthetic modification strategies for RNA, providing new insights into regulating RNA stability, translation, and immune responses.

His research has been published in prestigious international journals, including Nat. Chem. (2 papers), Mol Cell, JACS, and Cell Chem. Biol., and he holds several international patents.
