Scholarship Description:

Danqing Wang is a young researcher at the Department of Optical Science and Engineering, Fudan University, and a doctoral advisor. He is a recipient of the National High-level Young Talent Program and Fudan’s New Engineering Talent Program. He earned his Ph.D. from Northwestern University, co-advised by Teri Odom and George Schatz. He was a Miller research fellow at UC Berkeley (with Junqiao Wu) and a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light (with Vahid Sandoghdar).

His research focuses on micro-nano optics, integrated devices, and quantum optics. He has published in top journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Materials, and Nano Letters, with over 2,500 citations. His work has been featured in prominent media outlets like PhysicsWorld and ScienceDaily, and he has received multiple awards, including the Optical Rising Star Award and the Forbes 30 Under 30.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Meet Fudan University’s basic postdoctoral application requirements, holding a Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, Materials, Electronic Engineering, or related fields, or expected to obtain the degree soon.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in nanomaterial processing and characterization, micro-nano optical design and simulation, optical setup, and micro-nano and quantum optical measurements.
  • Possess strong logical thinking and proficiency in English reading and writing.
